Are you looking to book newborn photo session for your baby?
Here is the list of most common questions I get asked from my clients:
WHEN TO BOOK YOUR NEWBORN SESSION?
I recommend you book your newborn session while you are still pregnant. I will reserve a time slot around your due date. Obviously the actual date of the session will not be known until your baby arrives. Within 48 hours of giving birth please let me know and we will arrange a date that is suitable for you. I limit the amount of sessions per month to ensure the highest quality of service to clients. So it is never too early to book a session and of course you can get in touch at anytime if you have any queries.
If you have only just discovered Newborn Photography shortly after giving birth then all is not lost and I will do my best to fit you in however priority always goes to existing bookings.
The deposit of £50 is required to book your photo shoot and the remaining payment needs to be paid on the day of your shoot.
WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO DO NEWBORN PHOTO SESSION?
The perfect age for a newborn shoot is when your baby is BETWEEN 5 - 14 DAYS OLD. Under 2 weeks newborns still have that magical womb like behaviour that allows their fresh miraculous newborn look to be captured undisturbed. With only a window of a few days you have only one chance to capture that moment before it passes you by.
I MISSED THE NEWBORN STAGE AND MY BABY IS NOW 2 MONTHS OLD, CAN WE STILL BOOK THE PHOTO SESSION?
I photograph babies at any age. After 6 weeks your baby is no longer considered newborn however we can still take beautiful portraits. Please understand your baby most likely will not be able to do newborn poses as they are usually awake at this age.
SESSION
Newborn sessions are done in my home studio or in the comfort of your home (extra charge of £40 will be added) . Sessions are typically 2-3 hours long, allowing enough time for feeding and comforting. For a full price list please follow the link below:

PROOFS
About 3-4 weeks after your session, I will invite you for a viewing appointment to choose your pictures/wall art. Once full payment is received your prints/wall art will be ordered; they can take 2-3 weeks for prints delivery and about 6 weeks time for wall art/photo album.
All images will be stored and archived up to 60 days.
WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING TO THE NEWBORN SESSION?
Just the usual: wet wipes, nappies, lots of milk if not breastfeeding, blanket, dummy if your baby uses one. Please bring a snack and water for yourself and any siblings.
Feel free to bring baby's toy or a blanket or something sentimental if you wish to include it in the pictures.
I have lots of props to choose from in my Bristol studio: blankets, hats, headbands, wraps, baskets etc. We will discuss the style and colours once you arrive for your session.
HOW TO PREPARE BEFORE THE SESSION?
Try to keep your baby awake 1-2 hours before the session. Please don't worry if your baby fells asleep in the car. I know how hard is to keep baby awake during the long drive. Once you arrived, I would ask you to undress your baby and wrap him/her in the blanket.I would recommend to feed your baby before we start the photo session.
WHAT HAPPENS IF MY BABY CRIES DURING THE SESSION?
Sometimes babies wake up during the photo session and even get a bit fussy. Please don’t worry, we can always take a break to feed your baby, change your baby's nappy or just to have a cuddle with mummy. Usually simple swaddling your baby helps a lot and I always make sure to keep your baby nice and warm.
WHAT SHOULD WE WEAR FOR FAMILY PORTRAITS?
Neutral, light colours are always a great choice for newborn sessions.
If you are a fan of black and white pictures then please bring a black t-shirt/shirt with you.
Stay away from large logos, patterns, neon colours to not overshadow your baby!
